Sustainable Chalets

Sustainability is at the
heart of everything we do

Internal room finishes are sourced from suppliers with products that are sustainably sourced and who have committed to an environmental policy. Bedding, towels and cleaning products were chosen with the same criteria in mind.

  • Creating a warm, welcoming place where people feel comfortable, healthy and inspired

  • Net-Positive energy: generating more solar power than we use each year

  • Using 50% less water than similar facilities

  • Using timber sourced from Forest Stewardship Council-certified mills and forests

  • Collecting fresh rainwater and treating it to drinking water standards using UV light

  • Processing and treating our own waste water

  • Minimising and managing our waste

TESTIMONIALS
Perfect for outdoor families. First, it's apparent they take quality environmental design seriously. Staff are an indispensable resource in helping you enjoy the incredible natural wonders surrounding Glenorchy. The food is some of NZ's best, healthy, fresh, prepared to perfection. The children were so happy playing safely in the grounds and there was a huge amount of creativity. Movie nights for kids after dinner makes for very relaxed parents!
After a five-day stay, my wife and I look back on very happy memories, lovely people and fantastic food. We did the Fab 4 package, four days of hiking, kayaking, e-cycling and horse riding. The guides were a delight, interesting, informative and very experienced. For dinner, Pete Gawron is a remarkable chef. When he learned we loved Thai food, he prepared that on our last night. Delicious! We'll be back!
Best eco accommodation. I would give it 10 stars if I could, it is inspiring in terms of sustainability. Well done architects and designers.
