Join us at the Lodge for an intimate evening of exceptional Central Otago wine, beautifully matched cuisine and the simple pleasure of enjoying together.

We’re delighted to welcome Folding Hill Vineyard, a family-owned estate in Bendigo, Central Otago, for a very special Winemaker’s Dinner hosted by Nikki Kerruish from Folding Hill.

Folding Hill’s approach to winemaking is deeply connected to the land, with a focus on sustainable practices and a genuine respect for the unique environment in which their vines grow. Our menu has been created to match with this philosophy at its heart.

Headwaters Chef DJ and his team have been collaborating with Folding Hill to take inspiration from the Bendigo wine region and its natural surroundings, incorporating seasonal and foraged ingredients, earthy flavours, smoked vine elements and produce that reflects the landscape.

Across the evening, enjoy five distinct Folding Hill wines, paired with two canapés and a three-course dinner, each thoughtfully designed to draw out the character of the wine while celebrating the land, seasons and sustainable practices that shape it.

The evening will offer an opportunity to hear the stories behind Folding Hill, the family, the vineyard, the land and the wines - while enjoying a relaxed evening of food, wine and conversation.

Time: 6pm – 9:30pm

Location: The Dining Room, The Headwaters Glenorchy Eco Lodge

Winemakers Evening: Approx. 3.5 hours

Seating: Social banquet-style tables in our cosy Dining Room

Price: $195 per person

Inclusions: 2 canapés and a 3-course dinner, thoughtfully paired with 5 Folding Hill Vineyard wines

Stayover Package: $949 for two, including the Winemaker’s Dinner, an overnight stay in one of our private rustic-luxe eco-chalets, and breakfast

Event Timings

6:00pm – Arrival & Welcome

Guests arrive at the Lodge to enjoy a warm welcome and meet the founders of Folding Hill Vineyard and hear about the evening ahead.

6:30pm – Food & Wine Pairing Begins in our Dining Room

The dinner begins with our specially curated food and wine experience.

Chef DJ and his team presenting two canapés followed by a three-course dinner, each thoughtfully matched to a selection of five Folding Hill wines, whilst Nikki from Folding Hill shares the stories behind each wine, the family-owned company and the sustainable practices that are at the heart of the vineyard.

9:00pm – Social Time

Relax by the fire, enjoy a final glass of wine and continue conversations with fellow guests as the evening winds down.

9:30pm – Event Concludes

For those choosing to stay overnight, take your time before retreating to your peaceful eco-chalet and enjoy a night surrounded by the beauty of Glenorchy and snow capped mountains.
