Join us at The Lodge for a special evening celebrating the distinctive wines of Central Otago, thoughtfully matched cuisine, and the pleasure of sharing good food, great wine and even better company.

We’re delighted to welcome Wild Irishman Wines, with Central Otago winemaking pioneer Alan Brady and winemaker Brian Shaw, for an intimate winemakers evening in our cosy Dining Room.

Wild Irishman is built on a deep connection to the land and a passion for wines that express the unique character of their vineyard sites and the seasons. Founded by Alan Brady, one of Central Otago’s pioneering winemakers, Wild Irishman brings together decades of experience and a shared philosophy of letting the vineyard and the fruit speak for themselves.

Throughout the evening Alan and Brian will share the stories behind their wines, offering a glimpse into the craft, character and individuality of Central Otago winemaking.

Headwaters Chef DJ and his team will create five thoughtfully crafted small plates, each matched with a different Wild Irishman wine. Inspired by local seasonal produce, the menu will celebrate the flavours of the region with each dish designed to complement the wine and create a memorable tasting experience.

Whether you’re a passionate wine enthusiast or simply love discovering exceptional local food and wine, this is an evening to enjoy.

Time: 6pm to 9:30pm
Location: The Dining Room, The Headwaters Glenorchy Eco Lodge
Seating: Social banquet-style tables in our cosy Dining Room
Price: $145 per person
Inclusions: Five seasonal small plates, each thoughtfully matched with one of five Wild Irishman wines whilst Alan Brady and Brian Shaw sharing the stories behind the wines.

Event Schedule

6:00pm – Arrival & Welcome

Arrive at the Lodge, settle in and meet the winemakers and fellow guests

6:30pm – Small Plates & Wine Pairings Begin

The tasting experience begins in our Dining Room. Chef DJ and his team will present five seasonal small plates, each paired with a Wild Irishman wine. Alan and Brian will guide guests through the pairings, sharing insights into their wines, winemaking philosophy and the character of the vineyards and landscapes of Central Otago.

9:00pm – Relax & Connect

Enjoy the final moments of the evening, share a conversation in the lounge or outside by the fire shelter and reflect on the wines and flavours discovered throughout the experience.
